Junior Membership
2025-2026 Junior Membership Registrations open on 1 July 2025.
If you are new to Surf Life Saving or have a younger child joining this year, please also complete the Surf Life Saving NZ membership form as well. One form for each child and each parent wishing to join. At least one parent must join with the children and there is no charge for this. Click here to complete SLSNZ Membership
Please read the SLSNZ membership T&C’s and Ōrewa Code of Conduct as you will be asked to agree to them at checkout. SLSNZ Terms and Ōrewa code of conduct are available by clicking on the following Policies & Club Structure link
Parent Involvement: To assist in the running of Junior Surf, we do require parent help. We understand that families are busy juggling kids, work and other commitments but we request that you give 5 hours of your time throughout the season to help develop our young junior surf members and future lifeguards and promote water safety in our community. There are many ways to help, whether it’s working the BBQ, helping with gear tidy up, water support, coaching, managing a team or even becoming a lifeguard yourself - your involvement matters and makes a big difference. When paying for your junior membership, you will have the opportunity to share how you would like to help out during the season.
Junior Equipment Levy: There is a $30 levy for every child within the 7yrs-13yrs age groups (U8-U14). This levy covers the cost of all equipment damages sustained at a SLS event or training session (whether it is a personal board or club owned). This levy is due to an increased professional repair costs and rise of supply costs for replacement parts. This fee is additional to the family membership fee per child in the age groups mentioned above and is not optional.
