Off duty Orewa Surf Life Saving Club Lifeguard praised for her bravery!

“The Lifeguards are the unsung heroes, they give up their weekends to keep people safe. Without them, I wouldn’t be here... and if my friend had been in the water 10 more minutes, he probably would have died.”

Plans for a new Surf Life Saving Community Hub at Ōrewa Reserve are fully consented, with a construction company appointed and over $5 million already raised.

To break ground the club is seeking further funding and community support.

The Ōrewa Surf Life Saving Club Cafe was bursting at the seams with local residents attending a public meeting organised by ORCA, standing against Council proposals for the future management of the Ōrewa Reserve and Beach.

A new public rescue buoy has been installed for use on Ōrewa Beach at the Ōrewa Surf Life Saving Club!
