Director of Sport Lifesaving

Ōrewa Surf Life Saving Club is one of Aotearoa New Zealand's leading surf lifesaving clubs, with a proud history of developing athletes, lifeguards and community leaders.

We are seeking an exceptional leader to become our inaugural Director of Sport Lifesaving.

This newly created role will lead the future direction of coaching, athlete development and lifesaving pathways across the Club. You will work alongside athletes, coaches, volunteers, parents and club leaders to create a connected pathway from junior surf through to senior competition and active patrol membership.

About the Role

You will:

  • Lead the Club's coaching and athlete development programmes.

  • Develop and support coaches and volunteers.

  • Strengthen athlete and lifeguard pathways.

  • Build strong relationships across the Club and wider community.

  • Drive participation, retention and performance outcomes.

  • Contribute to the long-term success and sustainability of the Club.

About You

You are a passionate leader who can inspire people, build culture and develop pathways for success.
